In honor of the life and legacy of Alaskan artist, potter, and educator Thomas "Tom" Brown, we at Sitka Conservation Society are supporting a Thomas Brown Ceramic Education Award.
This offers a one-time award of up to $500 to full-time Sitka residents who are committed to enhancing their ceramic education. The funds can be used for ceramic education and can include travel, lab fees, tuition (classes or workshops), equipment and materials, conference registration fees, and online classes.
To apply, please submit a brief paragraph describing your current level of ceramic skills, how much you are requesting (not to exceed $500), and how you intend to use this award. Photos of current work are encouraged.
Submit your request to [email protected]. Applications are due by December 1st, 2023. Awardees will be notified by December 10th, 2023.
Post-Award Conditions: Send us some photos or a few words about how the funds helped improve your ceramic skills.
Sitka Conservation Society is holding these funds and will be writing the checks. They will be requesting a completed W-9 be submitted before checks may be distributed.
