Virtual Event: Conservation, Climate, Culture, and Community

What is at the intersection of land management of the Tongass, Tlingit language, and traditional cultural use of the forest? What are the greatest areas of need in Southeast Alaska? How does conservation meet these needs of local and Indigenous communities, and where does it fail? What does a “just transition” really look like?

Join Sitka Conservation Society's Tongass Policy Intern on Wednesday, August 11th at 7pm to hear on her thesis tackling these questions, where she will share the insights she has learned throughout the past two years. She would also love your feedback on her work and the future directions of this project.
