Sarah O’Leary was born in Monterey, California and grew up in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and East Tennessee. She graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2015 with a degree in Spanish and Photography. While in college, Sarah completed a documentary photography project on the Hispanic community in Knoxville that resulted in a show, a book, and a blog. She also worked as an outdoor pursuits leader, planning and guiding trips for UT students. In the summer of 2016, Sarah biked across the United States with Bike & Build, an organization that raises funds and awareness about affordable housing. She documented her journey with an Instax camera that she carried with her on her bike. Most recently, she spent six months in Lander, Wyoming doing graphic design work for the National Outdoor Leadership School. Sarah loves shooting portraits, telling stories, and being by the sea or in the mountains.
