Cora Dow – Social, Environmental, Economic Resiliency Policy Advocate

Cora Dow was born and raised in Sitka and graduated from Sitka High School in 2020. Throughout high school, she became interested in policy through an externship with Representative Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins, a University of Alaska Southeast environmental policy class, and debate. Now, she is hoping to learn more about environmental policy and use her skills to advance local sustainability. In 2019, she co-founded Youth for Sustainable Futures, a youth-led group dedicated to educating, motivating, and advocating for a sustainable future for Alaska. She is working with them through the summer, after which she will be attending Bowdoin College in Maine.

In her free time, Cora enjoys hiking and taking photos around beautiful Sitka.
