Andrew Gallagher is an AmeriCorps Volunteer working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Prince of Wales Island communities. Andrew is originally from Atlanta, Georgia and graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in finance in 2019. After a few internship experiences in the corporate world, he decided that using his background towards mitigating climate change was a much more fulfilling professional goal. He hopes that through his experience serving with Sitka Conservation Society, he will better understand how Southeast Alaska can use its plentiful hydropower resources to become a net-zero carbon region.
Outside of work, you can find Andrew hiking, reading, cooking, being involved in community organizations, and spending time with the other great volunteers in Sitka.
