The Tongass National Forest is our home and backyard: a vast temperate rainforest where we are free to live the Alaska way of life. The Tongass is important for all Americans, but it is essential for those of us who live here.
But some politicians want to take the Tongass National Forest out of public hands. Plans to privatize the Tongass jeopardize our wild salmon runs and our access to hunting and fishing sites that have supported Alaskans for thousands of years.
NOW is the time to speak up. Join the Sitka Conservation Society to tell politicians to keep the Tongass National Forest in public hands.
