Emily Pound, Sitka Youth Community Development Catalyst
Emily grew up in the Green Mountains of Stowe, Vermont . After graduating from American University with a degree in Law and Society, she moved to Sitka as a Jesuit Volunteer at Sitkans Against Family Violence. Throughout her service year, she developed a deep gratitude for Sitka through trail running, wild food harvesting, and simply observing how the Tongass breathes life into the community. Since working at SCS, Emily has pursued and completed her degree in Environmental Justice through Vermont Law School. She is excited to continue her journey in Alaska and sincerely appreciates working with youth and families in the community through SCS’s 4-H Alaska Way of Life Club and our High School Environmental Policy Internship program.
